Coral Spawning
Coral Sea Dreaming witnessed a fantastic coral spawning event on November 17th. The amazing spectacle where the coral released sperm and eggs over a single night along the whole reef was witnessed by our night divers. Coral spawning is critical in the health of the reef and general coral cover and this year was reported to be one of the best seen.

Whale Season Is Here
July and August is whale season when up to 3,000 humpback whales and many other species of whales migrate to the warmer waters off Cairns. Coral Sea Dreaming passengers have been treated regularly to great sightings of humpbacks close up breaching and playing in the water. These are amazing creatures to see in the water.

Wet Season Coming to an end
After an unusually long wet season this year, the sun is finally coming out and diving conditions are excellent. Cyclone Yasi had minimal impact on the outer reefs off Cairns last February and reef and marine life is healthy and vibrant.
Passengers are enjoying lots of colourful rainbows as the weather conditions improve.
This rainbow photograph was taken by one of passengers travelling on March 25th
